Catch Bugs is a Roblox simulation tycoon that launched on 2026-02-02. You start in the Grasslands with a basic net, swing at common butterflies and beetles, and either sell them for cash or place them in your vivarium enclosure for offline income. Every session pushes you a little further: a stronger net unlocks heavier bugs, better lures change which species spawn, and weather-driven mutations roll about every 45 minutes for a five-minute window. With a 97% rating across 138,792 upvotes and 29,016,118 visits, the game has become one of the busiest bug-collecting tycoons on Roblox in 2026.
Bug spawn rotations now cover the original route plus the Prehistoric update's Bonefern and Scorchden locations. You either sell each bug for instant cash or bank long-term offline income in your vivarium. The economy rewards keeping at least one rare or exotic bug per slot before dumping duplicates.
The vivarium enclosure is the heart of progression. Each placed bug pays out automatically while you are online and offline — rarer tiers like Mythical, Celestial, Zenith and Supreme dramatically out-earn common spawns. Upgrade slot count before chasing rarity.

If this is your first run, follow this five-step path. Every step is built around the one rule that defines the early game: bank rares in the vivarium, sell duplicates, upgrade the net last.
Tip: bugs you place in the vivarium can't also be sold. While you're chasing the Secret Tomb keys, treat Crescent Wing Butterfly and Wasp Moth as locked vivarium income — don't sell them.

Official Discord #updates says the Prehistoric update shipped with two new locations, Bonefern and Scorchden, plus an inventory rework, major large-inventory performance improvements, 52 new bugs, quests, net skins, crates, research stations, NPCs, puzzles, titles, an enclosure skin, and reworks to some nets, bugs and lures. Follow-up Discord updates on May 24 mention mobile inventory-drag fixes, ants puzzle removal and a Mammoth Spider buff.
